Yemeni Reality Echo: Follow-ups

Former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to billionaire Elon Musk during a Saturday interview with NBC News, stating there would be “severe consequences” if Musk were to fund Democratic candidates in the upcoming elections. These candidates oppose Trump’s signature tax-cut legislation, which remains a cornerstone for Republican voters.

Trump declined to elaborate on what those consequences might be and clarified that he has not engaged in any discussions regarding a potential investigation into Musk.

When asked if he believed his relationship with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO was over, Trump replied, “I assume so, yes.”

The tension between the two figures follows a recent farewell event Trump hosted for Musk at the White House, acknowledging Musk’s service as head of the Government Efficiency Task Force—a position Musk stepped down from to focus on his businesses.

Relations deteriorated shortly after, as Musk publicly criticized Trump’s budget bill—hailed by the former president as “big and beautiful”—calling it “a disgusting abomination.” Trump responded with sharp rebukes during a press conference from the Oval Office, deepening the rift between the two influential figures.
